Helping Hands with Magnifying Glass

Helping Hands with Magnifying Glass

I bought this for use with some hobby electronics soldering. After reading the reviews I figured I knew what to expect and for a little over $6 shipped (gotta love Amazon Prime) I took the leap. Some people complained that it was not assembled and came without instructions. Mine was ready to go and completely assembled out of the box. Others complained that the magnifying glass rattled around with the parts and was scratched. Mine was wrapped in plastic and cardboard and as I said earlier, it was completely assembled. Others complained that it is "tippy", and I fully intended to mount it to a board and make a little portable soldering station. I don't find it "tippy" or uneven at all. For what I will use it for it is perfect. It totally exceeded my expectations given the reviews. I hope everyone else who orders this has the same experience I had. Maybe I'm lucky, and I'm sure there is some validity to the other reviewers complaints, but this is exactly what I had hoped for.

Helping Hand Magnifier with LED Light

Helping Hand Magnifier with LED Light

This thing takes a little getting used to. First, you have to crank down hard on the wing nuts to keep everything at the angle you put it at. Second, and this is the main bad point, the light sucks. It's not that bright, and the wire in it was bad straight out of the box. If you have a second light source, use that. Don't even try to use the light on here as a primary light source, or you're setting yourself up for failiure.

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier
  • Easy-to-wear magnified visor for watch, jewelry repair, arts & crafts or as general reading aid
  • 3 lenses: 1.5x fixed, 1.5x flip-down & 3.5x monocle; all 3 = 10.5x, enlarge to 1050% original size
  • 2 super-bright 15,000mcd aim-able LED illuminate viewing area, light for 40 hrs on 2 AAA (not incl)
  • Quick-adjust headband with ratchet mechanism - just turn knob to tighten/loosen while wearing
  • Multiple-coated acrylic lenses, scratch resistant & reduce weight - visor weighs just 8 oz

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier

This ("Jeweler's lighted high-power magnifier visor") was my third attempt to find a satisfactory magnifier visor. My first purchase, a sugeon's model, worked well but lacked adjustable magnification and had no light. The second was far worse. While it had essentially the same features as the Jeweler's, it fell to pieces after only minutes (literally) of nothing more strenuous than being perched on my forehead. The lenses were similarly problematic, offering poor focus, especially on the periphery and when used in combinations. The 2 led lights, attached one to each temple area of the visor, were simply awful. Lacking adjustment. The provide illumination to the left and right of the object of your attention, and even then are rather dim. This is, I must add, when they are functioning, since on several occasions the battery case covers spontaneously liberated themselves and their battery friends onto my floor.

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier

This model, in contrast, is (mostly) of a solid build, with higher quality plastic used in the lenses which work well alone and combination, and resist periphery distortion. The led lights are really quite good; bright and adjustable in both pan and tilt. The only immediate problem is the swivel monocle, which while clear and strong, came loose of it's perch as flopped haplessly, enslaved to gravity. A philips screwdriver fixed the symptoms but the problem is a particularly cheap design for this lens' swivel mechanism; it promises ongoing inconvenience.

Jeweler's Hobby Magnifier

Yet this is a minor quibble. For the money, this is far and away the best choice I've found.

How To Read Smd Resistor Code

How To Read Smd Resistor Code

Smd stand for exterior mount gadget and if you fix Lcd monitors, you would come across lots of Smd components. Crt monitors rarely use Smd thus it is quite easy to find out the components value. In this article, I'm going to talks about Smd resistor code and how you could reason the values. This Smd resistor codes is different from the normal resistor color code (color bands) you had seen in the electronic circuit boards. exterior mount resistors is very much smaller in size than the normal carbon film resistor and because of this the numbers and letters were stamped upon or printed on the top side of the component.

How To Read Smd Resistor Code

Those numbers and letters have a meaning and you could use that as facts to find out or reason the desire resistance values. Sometimes the resistors are designed in a very small size until we have mystery to read the code. By using a magnifier glass we could certainly read the resistor codes.
There are two types of exterior mount resistors used in an electronic circuit board-the 3-digit and 4-digit code Smd. The first two digits narrate the two digits in the answer. The third digit represents the estimate of zero's you must place after the two digits. The reply will be in Ohms. For example: 104 which mean 10 0000 (4 zero's) and the final reply is 100k. Let's reason the 4 digit Smd, 1182 which mean 118 00 (2 zero's) and the final reply is 11.8k.

3 Digit Example 4 Digit Example

0R1=0.1 Ohm 0000= 0 ohms= link or jumper R33=0.33 Ohm 00R1=0.1 Ohm 8R2= 8.2 Ohm 0R47=0.47 Ohm 220 is 22 Ohm and not 220 ohms 1R00=1 Ohm 331= 330 Ohms 1000= 100 Ohm 473=47000 or 47k 8202= 82000=82k

Measuring exterior mount resistors is very easy with the help of digital multimeter. Most of the times when you check directly on the Smd resistors, you would get the right reading even without lifting a resistor lead. But not all digital multimeter can accomplish this kind of test. pick only the one that has the output voltage (measure at the probes) of less than 0.6 volts so that it won't trigger any semiconductor devices that can give you a false reading. Once you know how to reason the Smd resistor code and using the right way to test Smd resistors on board , you could check lots of Smd resistors in the shortest time.

However, minor errors in the card can render the stored data inaccessible. The errors occur if the card gets corrupted or damaged. Nevertheless, the card can be made reusable by formatting. The images, videos and audios can then be uploaded again from the updated backup. If the backup is not available to restore the lost data, a memory> card recovery software must be used.

Imagine a scenario where you are traveling overseas and taking tons of pictures everyday. One fine morning when you switch on the camera to view the pictures, it greets you with the following error:

"Memory Card Error"

The error makes the card behave in an abrupt manner as it shows the incorrect number of pictures clicked, every time you switch on the camera. For instance, it shows you 350 pictures, and when you see again, it only reflects first 40 pictures.

Causes:

Card corruption or a damaged file system is responsible for the appearance of such an error. A card can get corrupted due to a variety of reasons listed below:

Switching off a room before an image iscompletely written to the card Removing the card from a room while an image is being written off Batteries giving up as files are transferred from the room begin to a Computer Pulling out the card from a card reader while its content are open on a Computer Using a card which has not been formatted in the camera Rapidly shooting and deleting images when the card is full

Solution:

Use a card reader to connect the SDHC card with the computer and access the content If the content is still not accessible, format the card in the camera.

Formatting will allow you to click more snaps and videos, but in order to recover the pictures and other audio or video files from the formatted> card, you will have to search for a reliable memory card recovery software. Memory card recovery utility comes handy when one has lost or accidentally deleted data. These applications are non-destructive in nature, thus ensuring the recovery of data in original form.

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

One thing to remember is to not let happiness at receiving money blind you to the fact that it might be counterfeit. Lowly consumers can be victims of this fraud as well as businesses. While advances at the Treasury have made it more difficult for money to be counterfeited, the criminals are all the time working hard to find ways colse to the Treasury's roadblocks.

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

The Facts About Counterfeit Money

The Treasury branch is responsible for our money, coins and paper money, and they have many tips for checking your money to see if it is real or not. There are also now some tantalizing devices that can be used to confirm that we are not passing or receiving counterfit money instead of the real thing, but observation and facts should be all you need.

It is recommended by the Treasury branch that you assess two bills to check for authenticity. Use the bill you are unsure of, and use a bill you are sure of, such as one you received at a bank. Using a magnifying glass or other enlarging device, look for differing details. Pay particular concentration to the facial details of the portraits. A genuine bill will have a much clearer and more realistic portrait. Fake bills may also appear dingier or have a less vibrant appearance.

The next things to witness are the seals for the Federal support and United States Treasury. Real money will have seals that have a pointed, saw-like border which is distinct and well-defined. Seals on counterfeit money on the other hand will often have broken, missing, or ill-defined edges and may be a dullish color. Also look out for blurriness in the scroll patterns.

An excellent point of reference is the serial number. Counterfeit money often uses a font that does not quite match real money. It also may use a slightly separate color ink. Real money will use even spacing in the middle of the characters which will also be perfectly aligned. Also the color exactly matches the color of the seals.

Paper used for Us bills is a unique type of formulation and has exact colors laid in so it can be identified. It can only be used for money and not copied or imitated for any other purpose. Sometimes, rather than trying to develop paper to match it, citizen bleach the lower denomination bills then print higher values on and try to pass them off as real.

An even more amazingly brazen trick is cutting the corners from higher denominations and pasting them on lower ones hoping no one will notice. The Treasury shows a one dollar bill with a "10" pasted over the one. We all know George Washington is not on bills, but someone rushed might accept even distinct counterfit money. Occasionally, even coins are faked, but this mostly dinky to very rare coins.

American currency has undergone some updating recently to hinder potential counterfeiters. According to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing the newer bills have had some colors added, as well as some more sophisticated safety features. On the new there is color changing ink, that alters According to the angle at which you hold it, there is a new watermark, microprinting, and the embedded 'Usa 50' thread.

The Us Treasury has suggestions for avoiding counterfit money. assess suspicious bills to good ones and check for differences in color, sharpness of printing, depth of images and contrast. A magnifier helps. Saw-edges and borders may be blurred for fake money and higher denomination numbers may be pasted over the ones in corners. Look for the extra paper for currency and a strip with the dollar value on the newer multicolor bills. These also have color changing inks when tilted.

Although embroidery doesn't have to be an expensive hobby, for those of us who get serious about our crafting there are distinct techniques and tool which help us embroider faster or fancier.
Laying Tools. When you work with multiple plies on a singular needle, you'll need to keep the threads parallel, not twisted, as you stitch. (This is called "laying" the thread.) A collection of laying tools will help you achieve this. The simplest is a large tapestry needle or bodkin. Others specifically designed as laying tools comprise a stroking tool (also known as a tekobari); one end resembles an awl or stiletto, and the other end is quadrate to prevent it from slipping from your fingers. A trolley needle has a point like a tapestry needle affixed to a metal band that fits on the end of your finger.

Pincushions. Pincushions are beneficial for stowing threaded needles if you must change colors often. Pincushions come in a collection of sizes and styles; settle on one that fits in your stitching bag or basket. Many stitchers like to make their own personalized models.

Many manufactured pincushions come with an emery, which looks like a very small pincushion filled with a gritty, sand-like material which keeps needles clean and sharp.

Needlebook or Needlecase. With "pages" of soft fabric, a needlebook keeps your pins and needles protected (and protects you from the needles, too) and organized. Each "open page" is designed to store a singular needle type in a range of sizes. As with pincushions, this is an item you can make yourself to show off your stitching talents.

Many stitchers like to store their needles in needlecases, which may be narrow and cylindrical or large and box-like; some of the latter have magnets to keep needles in place.

Thread Palette. These plastic wood or paper palettes have a series of holes along the edges to hold private colors of threads, which you attach using half-hitch knots.

Thread Organizer. There are many products on the market for storing and identifying threads you accumulate. One of the simplest is small private plastic bags held together on a metal binder ring. Storehouse boxes such as those used for hardware and fishing lurs work well for thread wound on bobbins. On the other end are wooden boxes or chests that look like fine furniture.

Ruler and Tape Measure. Clear plastic rulers calibrated in inches are invaluable and come in a 6" distance that fits well into a stitching bag. For measuring a larger area, a tape measure is beneficial and takes up wee space.

Thumbtacks and Tack Puller. Use these to attach fabric to stretcher bars. (Don't use staples to attach embroidery fabric; you'll risk pulling one of the fine threads and spoiling the appearance of the fabric.

Drafting Tape. This tape is less sticky than quarterly masking tape and helps keep your needlework cleaner. Use it for taping the cut edges of your fabric before mounting it in a stitching frame. Find it at art contribute stores.

Lighting and Magnification. Both your eyesight and your needlework deserve optimal lighting. Pick a light that directs a circle (not a spotlight) of light onto your whole stitching surface. Floor lamps and swivel-arm Table lamps (such as an architect's light) are good choices. To avoid casting shadows over the work surface, right-handers will advantage from a light directed over the left shoulder, left-handers from the right.

For very fine work you may want to use a lamp that has a magnifier attached. Other possibilities comprise magnifiers that hang nearby the neck, attach to your eyeglasses, or are worn atop the head.

Embellishments. Small, attractive accents give your embroidery beauty, whimsy, and individuality. Look for buttons, beads, and charms at your local needlework shop, catalogs, buyer shows or online. Find them also in embroidery kits, often as the focus of a make theme.

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like To The Human Eye?

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like To The Human Eye?

Bed bugs have been nearby at least since the 17th century, as this is the earliest documentation that exists. Experts believe bed bugs were gift in the caves of pre-historic humans and fed on their blood. Although tasteless in the United States prior to World War Ii, regular use of Ddt roughly eliminated them for decades. With the use of Ddt being prohibited, they are now returning in report numbers in some areas of the country.

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like To The Human Eye?

What Do Bed Bugs Look Like To The Human Eye?

People who have never seen such a bug might not now they are nocturnal insects and are rarely seen during the day. They prefer to hide in dark places rarely found my humans. These areas include dark crevices and holes, behind wall switches and plates, inside mattresses, behind beds, inside lamps and drawers. Any quiet place they can enter and hide is a good place to look for them.

Bed bugs inject an anesthetic while extracting the blood from its prey, so it is not potential to detect bites immediately. Naturally, the demand arising in people's minds is what does a bed-bug look like since they are so shy? The most tasteless confidence is that they are probably not graphic to the naked eye. But the truth is, bed bugs are large sufficient to be detected with the naked eye, although it might be requisite to use the help of a magnifier to find the hiding pests. The appearance of bed bugs differs from childhood to adulthood.

To sass the demand of what do bed-bugs look like, a close test of the body buildings of the bugs is essential. The adults have a distinguishing reddish brown color while the younger ones are translucent and are light colored compared to the adults. They gently take on a brownish color as they improve towards adulthood. Their shape makes them particularly efficient for hiding in small cracks and crevices. Their bodies are oval shaped and is also flattened. However, they become elongated and swollen after sucking blood out of the host's body. They can grow to lengths of about 4 to 5 mm and do not move very fast. As a result, they can be precisely seen when intimately observed.

Closer analysis of bedbugs spin a banded appearance which is due to the proximity of limited hairs on the bug's body. The smaller ones on the other hand look wholly distinct from the adults and can be mistaken for other insects. Not only is its size smaller but the body color is also different. However, they grow browner as they moult.

So, what do bed bugs look like? When plainly answered, it can be said that they resemble apple seeds or lentils. They also have beaks which help them in sucking blood from their host's body. The mean distance of eggs is 1mm and they are white in color. They hide in distinct places within the room and can even be found within mattresses. You'll find traces of the bed bug from blood stains they leave behind on walls, mattresses, and bed linens. Fecal spots, shed skins and eggshells are routinely found nearby their hiding places.
